Are you passionate about science and safety? Do you excel at managing laboratory operations and supporting a thriving educational environment? The Grammar School at Leeds is seeking a dedicated Lead Technician to join our dynamic science department.

In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Lead Technician and teaching colleagues to ensure the smooth running of practical science lessons, overseeing the preparation of equipment, materials, and chemicals. You will maintain high standards in our laboratories, ensuring all health and safety policies are rigorously followed, and you will also manage and guide other technicians within the department.  As a Lead Technician, you will play a vital role in training and inducting new technicians, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.

The Science Faculty has an outstanding academic record at iGCSE, A-level and entry to highly competitive universities. Within the Science Faculty, biology, chemistry and physics operate as three separate disciplines.

We're looking for someone with a good knowledge of science, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. While previous experience in a lab environment and managing a team is desirable, your enthusiasm, team spirit, and commitment to safety and professional development are what will make you stand out. Good IT skills and the ability to handle demanding workloads are essential.

If you're passionate about science and creating an inspiring learning environment, we'd love to hear from you.
